Spurs fans who jeered keeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed later "they can't be real Spurs fans" by boss Thomas Frank.

Spurs conceded two goals in the opening initial moments to fall 2-1 to Fulham, marking their 10th Premier League home defeat of 2025.

But the main talking point was Fulham's second goal when Vicario lost the ball well beyond his box.

The goalkeeper ventured out to deal with a high pass and took the ball near the touchline.

However, instead of kicking it out of play, the Italian spun and attempted to clear, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Harry Wilson and was collected by King.

The forward laid the ball off to Wales midfielder Harry Wilson, who bent a shot into the goal from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six metres.

Moments later when the ball came to Vicario again, a number of Tottenham fans jeered him.

The team were booed off at the interval, with the club 2-0 down, and again at full-time.

A particular of those jeering sessions truly irritated the manager.

"I heard some of our fans apparently jeered the situation and booed following, which, in my view is totally unjustifiable," the Danish manager commented about the fans' reaction to his goalkeeper.

"[They] can't be real Spurs fans that act that way. Fair enough booing following the game, fine, but when we are in play, we are backing each other, we are with one another moving ahead."

Kenny Tete had handed the visitors a early lead before Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an better second-half showing.

Former top-flight keeper Joe Hart remarked that the next score was "totally avoidable".

"I certainly understand the supporters' frustration," Hart continued. "I am aware the role Vicario is performing. He is a excellent squad member, he is a real figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be assessed by your actions.

"The keeper was deeply implicated in what ended up to be the decisive score."

'It's Part of Football, I Can Handle It'

Italian national team the keeper is in his 3rd season with Spurs.

The 29-year-old said after the game that he had to accept the feedback.

"The second goal was a mistake of my own, I accept responsibility for it," he commented.

"My aim was to kick the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a bad way. That made an even bigger mountain to climb."

He said receiving jeers "is part of the game".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "The team cannot be influenced by the situation in the crowd. The fans have the entitlement to do as they see fit.

"It is on the team to remain more calm, to concentrate on ourselves. We are lacking in calmness and poise to overturn outcomes. Today is a poor loss and it's tough to accept."

'I Was Surprised Nobody Went Back to the Line'

In spite of Vicario's error, it was far from an easy score for Wilson to score.

Actually it was the next longest-range Premier League score of the season – after Tyler Adams' forty-three point three metre goal for the Cherries against Sunderland, which interestingly too occurred on the same day.

Although the keeper's mistake dominated headlines, this was an all-round poor performance for Tottenham to extend their home struggles.

This was their 10th at home loss of 2025 in the league, a joint team statistic matching nineteen ninety-four and 2003.

The side still have home games against Frank's old side Brentford and champions Liverpool to come prior to the close of the year.

Just a single of those victories have occurred after Frank took over from Ange Postecoglou in the off-season.

"If you are behind 2-0 after the opening, there is a huge challenge to climb," said Frank.

"During in a poor run, everything appears to go against you as well – the first was a deflected shot, the next is a error from the keeper.

"This result puts us in a place where we have suffered another game. Every game has a unique narrative, today we were defeated in the first six minutes.

"We simply need to keep working. The second half was significantly improved and with luck an aspect we can utilize to develop."
