Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Planners parties.
